We are all caught up on sleep and laundry from our trip and digging back into summer. I am working in our mud room to enjoy the sun, and keep an ear and eye on the kids.
Yesterday we were could not tear ourselves away from that amazing championship game at Wimbeldon! Now wanting to sign the kids up for lessons, how easily influenced I am…
and with us many ‘treasures’ found along the way.
Now I need a nap…I hope to be back up to full speed next week with some fun new pieces to share.
and we’re ready to leave town! We will be spending the next week on the beach in Mexico.

Yesterday we spent the day picking strawberries. The pickings were good and we came home with a whole flat. It was so beautiful and while we only go up to an island 15 minutes away it feels like another world.
Usually by this time I’m starting to feel the crunch. Finding ways to keep everyone happy and occupied while still getting a respectable amount of work done. But this year it seems so much easier. The kiddos have found little projects on their own and widdled away for hours, and by afternoon we all find ourselves out in the back yard enjoying the sun.
My favorite flowers are in full bloom in our yard! Now if I can just get myself out there to do some weeding, sigh.
We are back from our little weekend vacation. It was a great way to kick off the summer, as is a lemonade stand. I’ve already spied a couple this summer, and it is only a matter of time before the kiddos want to set up shop. I saw these tips this morning and laughed. Our customers are usually our neighbors and my parents, but the kids think it’s all very exciting.
My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary tomorrow, so we will be celebrating with them on a weekend trip. I made this for them from one of their wedding photos.

I’m totally trying this easy little idea from the latest issue of Cookie on our trip in a few weeks. String cereal onto dental floss and voila!, you have a craft and inflight snack all in one!
This is my daughter’s favorite sweatshirt. How cool is it that she can say her aunt is a roller derby girl? We took the kids to see her compete a while back, they’ve been asking to go again ever since. The next bout is June 21st, go see it if you’re here in Portland!
yet so far…Summer is so close I can almost taste it! These white peaches are soooo good, too bad we are having a very Oregon ‘almost summer’ rain. Kids are out of school next week, cannot believe that. Catches me by surprise every year…
for our trips this summer I have begun hoarding things to keep the kids occupied. One trip is a 3 hour drive each way, one a 6 hour plane ride. So far I have books, a couple new dvds and this…

These are my new favorite way to have the kids send out thank yous. For my daughter’s bday we actually went to the photobooth to do this. For this guy, well, the wall in the dining room seemed a tad easier. Either way they are really fun, and are always a big hit with the receivers. (by the way they’re in the mail, so if you’re expecting one, this is just a preview!)
These make me want to have a tea party! They are so sweet (forgive me I couldn’t resist). If you have a little girl, they’d be just adorable on cupcakes or for a little tea birthday party.

I can’t believe it has been five years since this guy came into my life! He is amazing. In his first year he faced several surgeries (one major) and through it all has kept a smile on his face. He makes me laugh more than any other person I have ever met.
