Holly spotted these flowers yesterday apparently trying to make a statement. Several pink flowers have sprung up on a bush of yellow flowers in our yard, and they are of a completely different variety. They share the same stem/branch as the yellow ones. Strange and beautiful, no?

The yellow looks like forsythia to me.
It could be that one plant was splice grafted to the other. We have a rose bush that is one stem coming out of the ground but then it splits to 2 different stems - one green and one brown. One stem produces pink flowers, and the other red. Look up “Grafting” on wikipedia.

Martina, I believe it is forsynthia. what’s weird is that the pink flowers are new this year, we’ve been here for eight years.
