Yesterday we celebrated my daughter’s eighth birthday (8!), with a pool party.  I made a sandcastle cake and she had the best time.  Certain birthdays always surprise me.  When they turn from 3 to 4, it seems like such a big jump to me, and now 7 to 8 feels the same.  Like we are leaving one stage and entering another.
